US Army troops and US Marines early in WW2 were issued the classic M-1942 long bayonet for use with the Springfield and the Garand. About 1.5 million M-1942 bayonets were produced before being replaced by the shorter M-1 bayonet in mid-1943. Original US M-1942 long bayonets are quite rare today, so over the last 15 years, some faithful recreations have been introduced. This US Army USMC Marine WW2 SPRINGFIELD GARAND ONEIDA LIMITED OL M-1942 BAYONET is a high quality MODERN REPRODUCTION. It's in near mint condition, with only some scattered spotting evident at each lower side of the blade (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the bayonet is in near mint shape, with no other damage. Most interestingly, it features a 16 1/4" spearpoint blade that retains approximately 99% of the blackened finish, sports crisp ridged black plastic handle scales, and is "U.S." marked at the ricasso, along with the traditional "flaming bomb" acceptance stamp of the Ordnance Department, its replica maker, "OL." (Oneida Limited), and the replica date, "1943". It boasts a fully functional press stud and locking latch, and is a beautiful representation of a
