    Product Description
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian Scottish sterling silver sauceboats; an addition to our dining silverware collection
These exceptional antique Scottish sterling silver Georgian sauceboats have an oval rounded form.
The body of each sauceboat is embellished with impressive later flat engraved scrolling leaf decoration accented with a range of birds designs, both perched and in flight.
The decoration to each body incorporates a shaped scrolling leaf bordered cartouche to the underside of the lip of each fine sauceboat, displaying a bright cut engraved crest of an eagle collared and chained rising, wings elevated and addorsed, charged with three crescents and grasping a serpent nowed.
Each sauceboat is ornamented with an impressive applied bead decorated border to the upper rim.
These 18th century sauceboats are fitted with cast elongated C shaped handles, featuring impressive leaf decorated thumbpieces.
Each of these fine examples of Georgian silverware is supported by an oval pedestal foot to a collet style rim.
The foot is encircled with further applied bead decoration and embellished with a flat engraved floral and foliate design to either side.
