Description

Reproduction of a Model 1941 paratrooper trousers in the WW2 camouflage pattern known as "Frogskin," which consisted of five colors in spot designs of greens and browns.    The 7-pocket trousers (which includes a watch pocket) are an exacting copy in stout, heavyweight cotton herringbone twill.    The large cargo pockets are pleated, with oversize pocket flaps and 4 snaps on each flap, just like the originals.    Even the front and back pocket material is heavyweight duck cotton.    Comes with original style buttoned suspenders.    Trouser width, just like the original, is 13-inches wide at mid-length tapering to 8-inches at the bottom hem.    The hem itself is a binding material sewn over the herringbone material.     Size is 34" x 34".    Manufacturer is unknown, but the jacket and trousers were made in USA for WW2 reenactors.    Condition is brand spanking NEW, and never worn.   Beautifully made.     Heavy duty material.
The original set of 4-slant pocket jacket and trouser was purchased at a Kansas City, MO (KCI Exhibit Hall) Military Collectors Show for 5 about 20 years ago. A truly beautiful, VERY well-made, accurately & authentically styled replica of the original battle uniform.    In the original Army issue M41 uniform, the "Frogskin" pattern was extremely rare, as most M41 sets were made in an all-khaki color.     This camo pattern was not used, except very rarely, in the ETO (European Theatre of Operations) because with the various German camo patterns in use it was thought that Americans might be mistaken for Germans and thus fired upon by friendly troops.    The pattern was used frequently in the Pacific campaigns, and by the Marines also, though the Marine style of garment was different, but still the same camouflage color scheme.
