An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Georgian Newcastle sterling silver sauce boat made by Robert Makepeace I; an addition to our silver dining collection.
This exceptional antique Georgian silver sauceboat, in sterling standard, has a plain oval rounded form onto three hoof style feet.
The surface of this antique sauceboat is embellished with the contemporary engraved coat of arms of an escutcheon displaying a hand in pale, surmounted with a large and impressive mantling, incorporating the crest of a cubit arm holding a scimitar.
The upper portion of the sauceboat is encompassed by an incurved shaped border.
The sauceboat is fitted with an impressive elevated handle modelled in the form of an antique dolphin/mystical fish.
This impressive example of Georgian silverware is supported by three impressive cast and applied hoof style feet with an impressive shell motif in junction with the body.
This exceptional and rare silver sauceboat is crafted by the renowned Newcastle silversmiths Robert Makepeace I.
Condition:
This antique Georgian sauceboat is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the body are all very clear.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of antique silverware.
