    Description

This is an antique bottle of sandalwood essential oil.  It was made by Dodge & Olcott Company.  This is a one ounce bottle size and measures 3.5 inches tall and diameter is 1.5 inches.  It still has the original oil in side about 3/4 full, so guessing this is probably about 18-20 ML.  The bottom has the D&O 3 embossed mark. Dodge and Olcott was later purchased by Fritzsche Brothers.    This maker produced popular fragrance and essential oils in the 1900s. This oil is well over 100+ years old and back then, it was made pure and rich, the oil is nice and dark.  In the 1920s they started synthetic oils but this appears to be an earlier version.  When I turn the bottle with the oil inside the glass looks green.  This oil is pure and over 100 years old, not like the newer versions.  It is rich and thick and was more concentrated than the ones made in mid-century.  The older more concentrated oils sell for 0 - 0 per milliliter.  A small amount will go a long way if you're making perfumes, soaps or other fragrance products.  I can see the oil is nice and clean inside, part of the cork is missing and I can smell a pleasant woodsy aroma.  There is some residue on the top of the glass and also some stains on the label as shown.   This was purchased from the estate, held in storage for years.  Make an offer!  We'll be sure to package it securely to keep it safe during shipping and send it insured, only sold in the continental U.S.  Enjoy!
