Pleased to offer this fine American silver gravy boat made by the Baltimore
Silver
Company
that was
acquired
by The Steiff Company in 1904.
The gorgeous sterling gravy boat
displays a
detailed crisp repousse of flora
and
fauna against a mottled background.  Of classic design, with a tapered C shaped handle with a matching flora and fauna repousse work.  The narrow mouth spout
underneath
displays a polished
acanthus
leaf branch that becomes a
mottled finish
as the leaf spreads out to the body. The boat sits atop a sloped repousse base with mottled border standing on an oval raised edge.
The gravy boat stand 4 1/2
inches
to top of handle and is 7
inches
long.  Stands firm and level.  Made from a thick
gauge
of silver weighing 295 grams (9oz)
Clearly stamped 925 Sterling 1000 with makers mark of a crown over a "B". This mark used from 1893-1904.
